New Canadians

Station for Newcomers to Canada

On March 2024, the Cold Lake Public Library  received a $10,000 Grant awarded by the Government of Alberta to support the initiative of providing services for new Canadians to build skills  to succeed and thrive.  Now, the South Branch of the Library has a Station for newcomers  with a variety of helpful resources including tools to improve language skills, resources to prepare for their citizenship test and learn more about Canada.

There is also available a computer station equipped for video calls, taking courses, attend meetings and interviews on-line,  home resources, and more.

We invite our community members who are new to Canada to visit our new station located at the South Branch, our friendly staff will be ready to assist them and show them all the resources available.
